Operators rise up against unfair competition from unregulated accommodation businesses

Throughout Australia, there is a groundswell of campaigning by groups representing the owners of accommodation under the broad umbrella of the bed and breakfast industry. They are challenging their local and state governments to do their job and regulate the proliferation of unregulated accommodation businesses. These accommodation businesses have cost their owners nothing to set up, while operators of compliant businesses are subjected to fees and charges for building compliance and food safety.
